    Hi @Hodge!
My fuel tank (diesel) is missing that white plastic cup there. Can you tell me if there is any sort of valve or something relevant inside or if it is just an empty cup?

Also, where it attaches to that black plastic thing on the steel venting/breathing tube, does it make a tight seal? I will probably have to make myself one of those out of any plastic container with a similar size, so I am wondering if it needs to be sealed, or valved or what.

    Thanks for any info mate!

    Hi @sussgq!

What is that black hose clamped to the white cup for?

hey bud, that little upside down cup is just an empty sleeve that attempts to create an air pocket if you were to be that deep in water. the top of it isn’t tightly sealed at all, i covered it in permatex 3bond and pushed it on tight and left it to dry. the one way valve is down the line on the side of the tank, mine was broken so i binned it and put that small ryco filter in place instead.

the hose clamped onto it is just me trying to make the air pocket a little bit bigger, probably useless haha

Thank you. I'll probably drill a hole in the top of a pill container and use it in place of the missing one here.

i’d advise turfing the one way valve and putting a little fuel filter in the line, they’ll catch water too in the event you get that deep and the little cup does sweet f all
