Nope unfortunately
- With regards to shortcut fix on this beig. If the car is sluggish/no power.
I turn off the engine, and then back on again and the car takes off fine.
To me that sounds ECU related - but the transmissions specialist siad their checks had the ECU all ok.
So could it still be anyone of a number of thins electrical wiring etc and not necessarily the ECU....?

Just to try a different tack, how about a dirty MAF sensor??
Disconnect the battery and give it a clean, allow at least 1/2hr

Since you have not had the vehicle long, remove the earth straps and cables and clean the connections. Add a couple of earths between the chassis and body as well. You never know, it may clear the fault, if you are lucky.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

being not that mechanically minded, would the earth straps / cables be listed in the owners manual, are they hard to locate etc, I've tried google and theres a little bit there that may steer me in the right direction...

So I have since used MAF cleaner.
Swapped the relays around.
And I still get this fault / sluggish at take off.
Also had the AT light flash 8 times at me - signalling transmission fault still !!

I hope someone that owns a 4.8 can tell you. There should be a couple that run from the engine block to the body. As for the body to chassis, I have no idea where they would be. Apparently, some auto shops have cables ready to go and they come in different lengths. Just make sure you get a good metal to metal contact when you fit them.
I also fitted an earth strap from the trailer socket to the chassis.

So i had a nissan service dealer give it a look over, they couldn't isolate the problem.
They've said they'd have to fault test through all the wiring until its found and that its an unknown. It could take a number of hrs, it could take days....
What do i do...
I'm thinking of looking towards a nissan or 4wd specialist....
Any recommendations for nissan patrol specialists in Melbournes eastern suburbs....

As MN suggested first measure where you want the earth strap say Auto casing to
chassis/body or even back to the neg terminal on the battery if its not too long
What area are you in???

i would take it to a competent auto sparky rather than a nissan dealer if you are chasing electrical gremlins
