Also have a horrible noise on low revs that I suspect may be the belt tensioner, have a spare but really don't feel like crawling under to change it and having dirt falling into my face while doing it. Tried to get into a mechanic in Katherine but they are booked out for over a week.
Bugger, yeah i had the solar panel s#!t itself in Exmouth luckily got a new one in town. Hate caravan parks but. . .

Only an honest guess Phil mate! ‘Axle Hill-Burgoyne’ a little rock possibly chipped/started a fold up in there under sleeve and or aftermarket lateral shock absorber loading design. No chance that your shock mounts have ever been modified mate?

Under full flex the shocker got caught on the spring? That how I destroyed mine.

My stupid clutch is playing up!
Starts grabbing near the floor and goes stiff and not disengaging properly. Grrrr
Next time I stop at the lights it’s back to normal and light as a feather and grabbing 1/4 way off the floor, then back to hard and well u get the picture.
Any clues before I go replacing everything.
The clutch isn’t that old either.

Not modified, just had this shocker refurbed by Koni with new valving. I guess a stone could have gotten up there, but Axle Hill is kind of bolder stuff though. Anyway I have a spare so will swap it out and assess the damage, but suspect the body is pushed inwards so will have damaged the new seals and piston I reckon.

What is odd with this possibility is my barge is hardly a flex monster. The rear springs are 400kg constants running airbags as well. I have seen the rears compressed as far as they will go but it takes a fair hole/hump to do that - but i guess its a possibility as you suggest.

Maybe an issue with the clutch booster?

Tube dent is worrying, maybe you have the the Raid series with larger 70mm bore, they have the twin tube design for extra protection against stones/dents. Maybe fine. Good spare anyway, new shield or cut away damaged section/crude repair.
I have the smaller Heavy Track series ($ driven at the time).

No these are the earlier series, purchased maybe 20yrs ago, well before the Raid came out. They have been rebuilt recently, good shocker, maybe 50,000klm old. I ran OME before this and they were OK, but totally rooted, loss of gas, poor dampening, however am considering the OME remote canister units next time.
