I usually back up my photo's 2 PC anyway so wouldn't of lost that many, mainly just the ones I took on the bush walk that I had taken before it went for a swim. Even managed to retrieve all my contacts which is something I never really backup

Farking everything....
New window switch arrived today. Wrong one.
Wife gets in and the window is open even more.
Looks like low oil pressure is due to worn bearings.
How the fark am I to mod this thing when I'm always fixing things.
Pissed right off ATM..

Shite thats no good John. Time for a rebuild and a snail off the motor, then time for some sideways action.

Fark must be some serious slop in bearings if it's enough to affect oil pressure..
Does it knock much??

I've always said that if I had to rebuild this engine I would look at a turbo or side mount blower. That's not going to happen.....
It's only going to be a bearing change couple of hundred. No labour...

It's lost a little pressure not heaps. No knock.
I've noticed over the last month or two that it has been down.
After the Cobaw trip where it had a short burst of high revving on an incline it was even lower.
If I was to only drive it around town it wouldn't be a problem, but I don't want it to let go if I'm out bush.
The engine has around 500,000km so its probably due, as a wear and tear item.

FGEN Bunnings. Waited 3 weeks for kitchen benchtops. They arrived, builder went away. Builder arrived, no benchtop bolts.
5 weeks. Builder rings, benchtop 2 is too long by 50mm and can't be cut down, have to order new benchtop. 3 week wait.
We'll be interstate on holidays when the bastard of a thing arrives at our place. It'll probably be left outside and be rained on.
Christ this renovating thing is a complete PITA, it would have been easier to sell the house and move.

How long since you've changed oil?
Could it have simply lost a bit of guts and thinned out?
My td42 had 525*** on it when sold and used bugger all oil and had brilliant compression.
I'd personally change the oil first for a 10-50 or 15-50 grade and see how that goes..

The oil was 5300km old. I thought the same, may have thinned out. I changed it and it's improved slightly, but more inconsistent now.
Have been using 20-50 to help slow a leaking rear main.
Only other thing I can think of is the pickup mesh may be a little blocked, but as mentioned it's probably just wear and tear on the engine.
Any other possible things to look at to diagnose will be appreciated.

How low are the pressures?
Mabel you've had a slightly blocked gallery and it's cleared itself allowing better flow?

4-11 psi @ hot idle use to be as high as 20.
35 @100km (1800 rpm) use to be 45.
As per manual @2800rpm 42 use to be 54.
It's around the low end of the recommended range.
I've also put in one of those oil flush. Will do it again (if I haven't done the bearings by them) when the next change I'd due.
