Y60 TD42 Bonnet latch
Hi All,
The loop on the bonnet that the latch secures to is almost warn through?
Anyone else had this issue and what was the fix?
Cheers
Andy

Hey mate, yeah mine had worn a bit, did have a go building with a bit of weld and grinding back with a dremel but not sure if this is the best thing to do or not.
Not sure if you can get just the loop as a part and either fit it yourself or get it fitted. Need to ask a panel beater, I'll try to remember to ask mine later in the week. .

Hmmm...I haven't seen it that worn out to cause problems.
How badly is it worn?
Can you post a picture?
The latch part may be adjustable to suit the wear and tear of the loop.

Thanks guys. I just checked the stops compared to new ones and they were almost non existant. Will try replacing these first.

When the rubber bonnet stoppers are worn, it causes bonnet rattling and weakening of the latch eventually.
That issue can be fixed by gluing piece of rubber on top of the bonnet stopper or on the bonnet where it touches the bonnet stopper.
