    Engine Light is On :(

Hi I was just wondering if anyone was able to help? I just bought a 2012 3.0L diesel Patrol and the engine light has come on. It loses power, especially when trying to accelerate up hills and off the mark. I will be taking it somewhere to get it checked but thought perhaps someone here may have had a similar issue?
    Thanks

Invest in a Scangauge or equivalent ($100ish to $180ish depending on version).

Best accessory you can have for a Series 5 onwards Patrol bar none and will pretty much pay for itself checking faults and resetting the CEL the first time you use it.
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

For a LOT of things disconnect the battery for 20 mins or so & see if the light goes out - they are fairly highly strung electrically these Patrols , but if it comes back on clean / replace MAF sensor then go from there & as @the evil twin said a scan tool is invaluable

A lot of time when you fix the problem the light will remain on until you reset it by disconnecting the batteries - that tip alone will save you tearing your hair out when you think you've fixed a problem but the light is still on .

Ok so a quick update I went out and bought an engine diagnostics scanner. When I connected it it came up with: P0238
After a little research it seems to be a turbo problem? So I have no idea where to start lol

if it is a turbo problem, check all hoses are tight at the connections or even look for a split hose, might be a simple lose clamp or even a split hose..remember also to disconnect battery like mentioned so it resets the computer.
