    Alternator not charging!

Hey guys I'm new to this forum, I have a straight lpg RB30 turbo gq patrol that I bought about 6-7 months ago and the wiring under the bonnet was (and sadly still is) a fu*king mess and unfortunately I can't seem to get my head around it all,

So almost 1 Month ago I got it stuck in a bog hole and the starter motor, alternator and basically the whole bottom of the motor sat in muddy water for a good 2-3hrs so as you could imagine the starter motor and alternator had to be replaced,

So I purchased a second hand alternator out of a TB42 for my RB30, when I went to purchase the alternator the seller showed me that the alternator was charging at 14.3volts, so the alternator has the 2 pin plug with a yellow wire that has been piggy backed onto the thicker white/red wire that goes to a 100amp fuse and a grey/red wire that goes straight to the positive terminal on my battery

Then I purchased a brand new starter motor from bursons and installed that but cause of the messy wiring for some reason with the factory wiring wired to the starter all it did was tick every time I went to start it, so I've had to run my own wiring to the starter so I have a wire that runs from the positive on the starter motor straight to my positive on my battery, then the black wire with the yellow strip runs into the factory loom and I lose it?.....

But now my car will only start if I jump start it because it's not getting charge from my alternator the volts while the car is running is 11.7- 12 unless I'm driving the the volts gradually decrease until the car dies.

If anybody can shed some light on what could be it's problem that would be awesome, because covering it in petrol and throwing a match at it is looking closer and closer every day 🤣🤣....

Have you downloaded the manuals? There are pretty good diagrams to read. You might have to test the existing loom for open circuits or incorrect wiring. If it is such a mess, I would probably rip out the alternator loom and redo it properly. But I am bit of a perfectionist.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

The lower than 14.4v charging could be lesser RPM that the alternator needs. Being it from a different engine, have you compared the pulley sizes?
