This guy has some serious talent. I also like his added dry humor he adds. Great to watch.

Not really. You are still restricted by sizing.

Turbo tech is pretty good these days and shows even in our use of the EFR items from borg warner.

The hard bit is to not get hung up on psi values.

That is true with extranal by passed etc i guess standard turbos are a lot more involved than the use to be..
What about a compound setup with vnt small and normal big..

Vnt or vgt basically allow a larger turbo to be used to allow a broader area of performance for a single size housing thats all they still have their limitations.

I dont think you quite understand compounding. Compound turbo setups have them the opposite to what you would think. The big turbo feeds the little turbo
The only job the little turbo really does is compress the volume from the large turbo.

Ideally you dont want any form of control weather it be a wastegate, vnt or vgt but control boost by fueling across the rpm range. While possible its hugely expensive hence why you will see things like cvt and 7+ speed transmissions become more popular as an engine will always work better with more performance at constant rpm. You only have to look at things like boat engines to see this.

Your spot on, i really have nfi with compounding lol..
Was reading about new twin turbo navara and that is complicated as fk..
They use waste gates etc to bypass and direct..
    Fk fault finding on that

Caterpillar had twin turbos on their C15 accert engines & they were nothin but trouble & never went that well , I know of plenty of blokes that pulled em off & went to a single turbo manifold & shut off the unnecessary shit in the ecm . Over complicated setups I believe - a lot of things have to work together perfectly for it all to work & more things to go wrong but each to their own I guess .
