    Intercooler Recommendation

    Hello,

Looks like I have a pinhole in my Intercooler, what replacement do the gurus recommend (and why)?

I've seen some cheap eBay specials and some ridiculously priced ones up to $1600.

    Cheers

Unfortunately yes I do, and I'd like it to fit the standard hole in the bonnet.

For a stock motor Jack, the cheap welded units will be fine. In my opinion, for a 3ltr, the cost per performance gain buying a top end cooler would not be worth it at all. A taller scoop will be far more effective than the OEM scoop.

One of the companies that does a welded recore should fine. Or one of the cheap units like mudski describes. I believe there some hpd knockoff ones available one eBay for a reasonable price.

On my 3L CRD I've used a DieselSmart unit.
It was ducks nuts compared to the leaky factory unit.

Jack, when I was installing NADS to my CRD (run max boost 22psi, ecu remap). I replaced the leaking OEM I/C with a unit that looks the same as Hodge pics (TIG welded).

It is a Chinese import that ADRAD supply (pt# CACBPNIS005CM) $470+gst (Aug 17). Works fine. PM me and I can let you know where purchased (ACT) if you would like to check out. They post gear all over.
