Used my rivet nut tool this past weekend. Why did I wait so long before I got one of these things.

Only thing to watch is not over stressing the threads when you pull them up. I installed some hinges on the 60l engel this weekend and used the riv nut set, like you have, and got a bit casual with the amount of pull up force and stripped one out. Took 5 mins to drill the bugger out then, lucky i could, if space was limited could have been another PeeBee cluster self generated. Best thing though.

haha, it's only a matter of time before I do that.
On what I was doing on the weekend, I measured and measured and took my time and still cut too much off something I had to shorten, now I've gotten lengthen it so I can secure it. Bloody amateurs.

.........
FWIW:
If you find you’ve accidentally stripped one (Rivnut) fastest way to remove it we’ve found is to simply grind the head down slowly until it pops off like a washer.
Doesn’t seem to affect the surrounding paint but its only downfall is the internal part of the RivNut has a new forever home inside floating around if it’s a sealed cavity.

Expert
Rivnut nutsert users: if youre stripping them you are using aluminium ones, bad mandrels, or you have forearms like Popeye. Lay off the spinach or go Stainless

Bugger mate but thank you. We are up there for a day trip next weekend and was keen on a pub meal and sneaky couple of pots.
The travel buddy will have to do its thing to a couple of fourntwenties.
