I should say I had the builder there in charge - I was just labouring & offering suggestions but yeah it was good to be a part of it - when I discovered the water seeping out from under the back patio slab I knew we were going to have to dig it up - I was also prepared to not find the problem there & have to bust up the new bathroom floor - which would have been hard to take - thank Christ that didn’t have to happen

Finally dug the trench to lay the last section of RG11 cable that the stupid excavator operator ripped out even though I told him and marked the ground exactly where it is. First job to do when we were starting our house Reno’s and they fuck up on the first day, within the hour of starting. Anyhow finally dug the trench. On took five hours and a god full off pain killers for the rooted back.

well that sux..... but im confused a little mate??? You had an Excavator on site and they broke a cable. Why on earth did you not get him to at least dig that little trench for you as a good will while he was on site? would have taken him about 10 minutes.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

I can’t post pics on here so you’ll have to take my word for it . What a saga . Glad we were rained / snowed off from work anyway so I was home to do the labouring , now I’m rooted & sore & keen to go back to work .
I hope you took a heap of photos mate. is your house on a slab on ground? What is the dirt like to dig up your way? Clay? Sandy? Silty? Do you have House Insurance? You should make a diary note now mate. This is an Escape Of Liquid Event under your house insurance policy. If you suffer from any new cracking or subsidence over the next 12 months as it dries out please give me a call mate. This is my wheel house bud.

It was on the first day of the build when they did this. Where that trench is I have dug it was covered in a massive pile of sand from the day after until pretty much the end of the build.

Fucked if I’m digging that by hand. There’s a lot of trees in the way so part of it will have to be done by hand. Or I just pay some to do it.

    I'm both happy and pissed.

I got some stock from work to build a fire wood box on castors so I can store it under the smoker which is next to the oven and I and wheel it out to the fire pit when needed. It will also make it easier to load it when empty.

Happy that I started and got a couple good welds down. Pissed that the others look like a dog's breakfast. So out canes the grinder to clean then up.
