Slow refresh of my 92 Safari.

Well, I figured I would start one of these since it seemed weird to continue in the introductions. Not a whole lot done as of yet. I have just replaced the door switch rubbers, and the steering dampener. I have refreshed the outside rear vents with black bumper and trim paint. Went to play with the rear sway bar disconnect and it was really hard to pull. So I took a look underneath and low and behold no rear sway bar at all. Don't know what it's supposed to drive like but it seems to drive just fine without it. Looking at buying the Resonator assembly and air duct. due to not having the Resonator(precleaner) and my air duct being shot. Anybody used amayama. com for their own parts? well that's it for now. Had one of my windows able to go down. but wouldn't go up. so I took it apart and it seemed like there was a little to much give were the metal gear met up with the plastic gear. I disassembled the entire thing. there are two snap rings one that holds the metal gear in to the plastic and one that spaces it away from the plastic gear. removed the spacer snap ring and sandwiched it between two spacers and reinstalled the retaining snap ring. now the window works great up and down. Man, those wheels look so nice!
Amayama Trading is a good site for sure. Megazip and Partsouq are as well. Megazip have some nice offers from time to time. For example, they were having a blackfriday special last week or so.

I've shitcanned swaybars (front and rear) and had no issues. I don't race it, it has as much body roll as I'd expect 30 year old beam-axled tractors to have .
    No lift on mine though.

If cable disconnect (or, any cable) hard to actuate:
the process is to remove it, hang it up with a funnel full of oil going in the top, (sealed to the cable sheath with plasticine or hot glue or whatever) and when the oil starts dripping out the bottom, give it a bit of the in-and-out, then re-install.

Or for 9 dolars use a bike cable lubing tool and do the job in place, without removing the cable.

Interesting, I'd never seen one before.

Think I'll manage to live without one though, since I made it this far.

For those that have 24v systems. where are you hooking up your stereo for constat/battery power. The previous one was hooked to the ignition. But after about a minute there was a loud pop and some smoke. On another note check out the janky speakers that were in it. PXL_20221209_030744622.jpg

Wow that looks like a comms speaker only. What's the history of your Safari? Japanese Authority or Government use?

@MudRunnerTD for 24V question. He converted his Y60 from 12 to 24V but not sure if he runs a stereo.

What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal??

Pretty sure it was a civilian use vehicle. All other speakers were stock.

    Cheers Plas.

Sorry mate my GQ actually is a 12v car. I run a second 24v Alternator supplying a 24v bank batteries specifically for thr winch (and Engel fridge). The 24v Alternator has a 12v wxcite circuit.

If you are just looking for supply then off the back of your cigarette lighter will be ignition switched. Alternatively you could just grab a fused supply straight from the fuse board in the drivers kick panel.

If you want a constant supply I would just run a new supply from the battery.
    Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!! ....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
