The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Yeah not bad at all. From Big O 4x4 in pinaroo SA, was $160 delivered, think they do a kit for GUs as well.

Having another look at it I'm thinking the bottom pic is right? Are you expected to weld along the edge or the fold? Do you fold that edge to 90 and flat of fit like it is? I reckon the bottom pic will weld better and the dipple dies are facing in. Give them a call mate.

Top one would be the go. Bottom one does not sit under the brace as intended and wont be as strong.

I assume you could fit the bottom pic in under the frame too though yeah? And your running your welds along the edge or along the fold? Is that fold to make a long tab? And are you meant to bend that?

Yeah fits under the frame nicely both ways, the long edge buts up against the mount for the guard too which is nice. . .
Hmmm not sure now, guess whatever edge is best for securing. Definatly don't bend tabs I think.

Looks nicer with dimples facing in I reckon . . .

I sent Andrew from Big O a message and photo from here and he has confirmed that the bottom pic is correct. In under the guard as per the top pic but dimple dies in
