TB42E bad oil leak
Hi everyone I have a TB42e it has a very bad oil leak at the back of the engine block dripping off the bottom of the bell housing prominently on the passenger side any ideas where it could be coming from would be great? Also there seems to be a brass bung at the back top passenger side of the block what is this could it be leaking the oil its dripping rapidly when the engine warms up thanks in advance for your help (it's an auto).

Check that the fasteners on the tappet cover on top of the engine are nipped up. Some people over torque them and warp the cover which makes it leak and the oil runs down the back of the block and drips off the bell housing.

Hey mudnut there was a bolt missing from the cover I replaced it and tightened them all up seems to be coming from below the head do you know what the brass bung is I spoke of is it for an oil line on a different model? If it was a rear main seal would it be all over the bell housing or just dripping from the little hole in the bottom? Cheers bud

Give it a degreaser spray and spray pressurized water from a garden hose. Let it dry and then start the engine to find out exactly where it is leaking from.
Post a photo of the brass bung, so somebody can post a reply about what it is.

Were you saying the actual "head bolts"(bolts that hold the cylinder head to the engine block) were loose towards the back of the engine?
