Itech 3000amp jump starter. Have the 900amp unit in the Subaru, thought I would drop one in the patrol for good measure

3000 amp through those cables and connectors. Apparently the laws of physics don't apply to advertising. But upon saying that, they are a good thing to have for emergency use.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.
Its simply a duty cycle issue in most regards. The 'device' will only supply what the driven device requires. My starter wont draw 3000amps, plus for the instant the current flows, the cables temp with rise with the resistance and its going to be over and done, car started. The insulation will take that heat for the highly intermittent times it is used. I have no doubt there is some marketing BS associated, and there may be an element also of prolonged capacity to it as well, don't care, just as long as the damn thing works when I need it, I am not too concerned with the physics of it .
Have a look at this one - 20,000amps!

Well, should settle today.
Two adjoining blocks a bit over 1000sqm each at Armstrong Beach just east of Sarina Qld.
Short walk/drive to the beach/boat ramp and only 10k to the golf course.

Plassy, I didn't know so rang Itech and they advise the 3000a designation is actually 3000CCA, however it is duty rated. So whilst a larger battery AGM/Wet Cell, even lithium has a CCA it also has a listed reserve capacity where it will deliver at some rating (probably assume the ability to supply some cranking capacity before either the internal cells get too hot or the current is depleted to the point of either being ineffective or unable to adequately crank.. The ITECH unit is 3000CCA, but the duty point is massively lower time wise, however it is alternately linked to the number of starts at that rated 3000CCA. I think the box states the unit can do 40 jump starts on up to an 8L diesel before requiring a recharge, however unsure if these are one after another of some other timeline. Anyway, its a monster

Yeah gotcha, sounds good. I recently developed a flat battery in my 4.0L petrol daily and was very disappointed to have my fully charged peak current 600A (start current >300A) Wuldmar power pack fail to start it. Ended up with a jump start from a Landcruiser just to rub it in. I don't trust it now so need something with more oomph.
