Swimming pool auto close doors passed the compliance inspection, all legal, all legit, excellent rework by Nic @rustynail over a couple of visits. Stuff like this needs to be handled by the tradie for sure - i would have stuffed around and made a mince of it for sure.

Finally got our power back on, about a day and a half with no power due to a tree taking out the neighbors power line to their house. With the line ending pretty much at their doorstep. So they couldn’t get or or in their house.
Lucky I had the fridge in the Patrol on standby.
Stupid thing is. Our power was restored and the power line still lying over the road and across their front yard and driveway! Rang SES, they said they won’t touch it. Rang our wholesaler, was on hold for near two hours. Only to be told it was reported yesterday, when the power was off. Then all of a sudden, fireys turn up lights and sirens, then the cops.
I think the house owners that were trapped in their house had enough and rang 000.
But putting power back on with a power line still down? Think they forgot this one… lol

The main initial fault with your outage could've been kilometres away from your house . To check and patrol every subsidiary circuit and service could've taken half a day in some cases. This was a shitstorm of the decade. We'll be fixing and putting people back on for a week, probably more.

I was just more surprised that they put the power back on even though they new there was lines down in our street.
