My feeble attempt at decoding MBesian: Only just advised of a government organised cull. Some stray bullets landed in MB's place. Blah blah property owners. ????

My advice is: not to follow my advice.

There were those signs all over the dandenongs in April. Unfortunately they also left them everywhere. It's legal littering imo, pretty average.

It is a disgrace. Their contract states that they must collect any carcasses that are left in waterways, but I have seen countless photos of aerial culled deer left to rot in rivers and creeks.
I understand culls need to happen and the deer population is getting out of hand, but shooting them from a chopper and leaving them to rot is not the way to do it.

I carry these, if I need to grab some river water just chuck 1 tablet per litre in and it will kill most bacteria. It very slightly affects the taste but I think that's a small price to pay when in need of water.

Would the brought down deers be suitable for public consumption, say public school meals? Not aware if there are any sanitary reasons against consumption...

Unfortunately here in Australia there are too many sensitive souls that don't believe the hunting of feral animals should happen. It's kept as hush as possible. Also, most schools don't serve meals for the whole school, most places you provide your kids with a packed lunch everyday.
If anything they would likely end up as dog meat
