Metal line running down passenger side chassis?

Hey guys i was under my rig last night tightening the side steps up and i have a single metal line looks like a brake line that runs on the inside side of chassis then bends back into a hole in the chassis rail before the rear wheels and has been cut off there? It runs from the engine bay to no where?
Im pretty sure its not brakes as no fluid is coming out obviously but have no idea what its for?

My rig is a S3 4.8l so dont know if its the same as the diesels. Ive done some research looking for diagrams but cant fin anything. All the rear brake lines seem to run on the drivers side. So at a guess i dont know if its a fuel return line or something to do with the portioning valve...

    Any help appreciated guys !

Is it covered to gas? know sometimes when they convert it and take out ther rear main tank fuel lines are often cut and left there.

Fuel line for sure. It should go up over the drivers side rear coil tower too.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Has it been replaced by another line as it may have had a hole in it?

it is likely that there is 2 actually. you may be looking at the Fuel Return line. Check the lines from the back of the fuel pump, they should be easy to trace back in under the car. se where they go? they may have replaced the hard lines with Fuel Hose on top of the chassis?
