I've got that unit. Runs great. Charges great.
    Performs well off solar.
And when running on solar and aux battery is close to full it also trickle charges your main battery too.
I'll be adding the ctek smart pass to it soonish.

I have both of these, works well, but have had the 250s die on me and found out 'no warranty' from CTEK unless you buy from a dealer - something to do with old stock being sold beyond a first time activation date issue. Anyway, I like my setup.

Can't remember now mate. Probably 8mm2 or something. My battery is directly underneath the unit behind the rear draw.

Just brought it from the authorised dealer so get 2 yrs warranty with it.
Can I mount under the bonnet, or in a abs box behind the bullbar or similar?

Dont know John, what does the paperwork say? Mine is on the rear cargo barrier, so only sees ambient temps not the baking temps under a bonnet. I also don't know the IP rating for locating in a box - might sweat if the seals leak.

No worries about GVM with this thing. Price and having to climb in would most likely kill off the option for me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAKXgWfbTnY

Great review Muddy mate, all things looked pretty positive albeit climbing up and down the cab ladder constantly like you both mentioned.
In retirement I’ll certainly be seriously considering converting/chopping a GU wagon to one of Bob James 6x6 coil sprung bogey drives.

Higher payloads, better articulation, less rollover and with his connection with ‘Marks’-Portal Axles and 35” legal tyres a complete build quote came in cheaper including 3 sets of ARB airlockers inside the portals. A setup like that would be an unstoppable tourer I reckon

Almost didn't upload this due to my welding ability haha.
Installed mine behind the glovebox mate as it's recommended not to have them in the engine bay. I've only got the 2 batteries in the engine bay.

(And yes before everyone lectures me, I've got all the boots covering the terminals now. It's an old pic)
