Went into Aldi today cause some of the weekend specials can be mint!!
Bought a 40m roll of 5mm para cord Glow in the dark....$9
Then went across the road to BCF and bought 6 Supapeg cord brakes for $2 each. BCF sold a China brand of these in a 4 pack for $8. The Aussie ones where the same price. Happy days.
Went home and made 6 new glow in the dark rooes for my swag trip tarp.... winner!
Then made 4 handy ropes with the rest.
Stoked

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

The 747
Para cord is awesome stuff, so strong for its size and weight.
I have a couple of 10m pieces coiled up in my hunting pack. Glow in the dark would be handy though!

I bought 2 rolls , same time last year. Used a few small lengths for some sideways shade cloths at ground level in the backyard, . Within weeks UV ate it for breakfast. Went dry and frail and de-stranded. So cannot recommend it for a "lengthy period of time job.
At work we use whats supposedly known as Telstra rope. I think it's got 500kg-ish breaking load. We consistently pull multi-ton cables with it and it just keeps on keeping on. So I've used that to make up a bunch of stuff like your self Darren. Yell out if you need some as kilometres of it end up in the bins after cable pulls.

Also just noticed Aldi has those canvas bags again at the moment. I got some last year and they are great for the price!!! THis year they have some different ones up for grabs.
