I'd actually buy one of those old Rangie's. They are a tuff looking old rig. A mate of mine had one 20 odd years ago when I had my MK shorty. He had factory electric lockers in his. Massive inside them too.

They're a good product, but I reckon way overpriced and too much old tech.

I don't know if it's just me, but most cars that overtake me are Toyotas, they all seem to drive 'em fast. But I do remember when I had a 2005 Camry as a work car, it's 100kmh was GPS'd as 100kmh. Most other cars I've driven are set to up to 5 kmh under 100.
They take the car out on Toyota's 7 year finance deal and when they get to the end of that, they take out a 7 year personal loan to pay off the balloon payment at the end!

wow, after paying a vehicle off for 14 years, you'd need that reputed Toyota reliability.

Had some Outback accessories long range fuel tanks fitted. 80 litre sub and a 145 Litre main tank. 225 litres in total, should cover my fuel use for most trips. Heading off to Dirk Hartog Island next weekend, so they will come in handy for sure!

She’ll be a fairly quick trip, a couple of nights at Murchison house station on the way up, then a night at Steep point Barge landing site, 4 nights on the island and a leisurely drive home! The wild flowers should be out, so hoping for some great views. Yep, feel sorry for you guys over East, hope you’re out and about sooner rather than later! Will throw up a trip report for sure.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Very nice. Any chance of some pics? I've got a 145 litre ARB tank, one of the plastic ones, it's been pretty good. Been wondering about replacing the sub tank for a long time.

Trip sounds great, hope you have a great time.

Not the best pics, the one from the rear is hard to distinguish from the rear diff bracing in the background.

Nice. Does the sub tank sit as low as, or level with the sides, to the right & left of centre of the diff?
