Maybe if I pack it with something.
Cut a piece of bicycle tube or run some electrical tape around the bullbar a few times
Id run some tape anyway just to protect the bar

Bike tube did the trick, it was absolutely perfect for it. Thanks to @Plasnart for bringing some for me at the meetup.

Just to top of last weeks unexpected hot water service dieing. We just received a letter from the council saying they had done a house inspection on the property back in February, before we bought the place, and have listed a few drainage issues, with the house, carport and bungalow. And expect us to have this rectified within 60 days!
More shit to deal with. Seriously I've had a feckin nuff! If its not the wifes car playing up and costing money, its issues with the old owners of this house!

I would be checking if you can charge the old owners if you can prove they were aware of it, had the council let them know previously?

Im thinking the previous owner is wiping his hands
cause its not his problem anymore, do you have a
60 or 90 grace period. Cant see the owner helping
unfortunately. again the system sucks

Ring the council and explain that you're the new owner and that you are pursuing the problem to be fixed by previous owner. They may give you a longer period to do so.
Unfortunately it may be a case of buyer beware.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Shit mate you've had some manure shovelled your way regarding this new house... I guess it can only get better from here ?
I'm with other comments here. Ring the council and talk to them. Explain. Hope your council listens better then Whittlesea do...
