    Lithium MPPT solar charge controllers

    Howdy all,

I need some advice on purchasing a good quality 24v MPPT controller for my mini off-grid setup for the charging of 2x50a Lifepo4 deep cycles in 24v (I have a 24v/3000w inverter). I have been using a cheap PWM controller for the past year and have started seeing spikes up to 32v which cause my inverter to drop out (29v or less is fine). I'm running 2x 250w 12v panels in series which give about 13.9amps Isc.

I'm curious about brands such as Epever, Renology, Morningstar and possibly others within a 24v/20-30amp capacity.

I no longer trust Victron after a bluesolar 75/15 unit I had allowed a 12v lead acid circuit to randomly go up to 16-17v.

I've done a bit of reading about the Epever Triron series and they seem to only cater for 3s 12.6v lifepo4 batteries, mine are 4s 14.8v, so I think that's out of the question.

Have you looked at Plasmatronics solar controllers?
Fully programmable to suit Lithium , also the pro series of Morningstar are good
    Next look at Enerdrive

    I hadn't heard of Plasmatronics.

I had a squiz at Enerdrive chargers but all the ones I saw were DC-DC with solar input (presumably in-vehicle/caravan type chargers) starting from about $400.

Plasmatronics is an Australian company and Queensland Maritime Saftey use them. When I started selling Lithium batteries to QMS we were able to get custom settings suitable for the batteries.
