Both son and daughter Mortgage free as of yesterday. Daughter now owns her house and the son owns a house in Hobart which is rented. No more worries for the Old Bloke.

I can understand that. We only buy what we can pay for. Haven’t owed anyone a cent since the mid 90’s.

A pipe dream for me and most unfortunately these days. I'll be 356 years old before I've paid my mortgage off.

I`m in the same boat Cuppa.
Our first priority was pay the house off which we did in less than fifteen years. We only ever bought the highest quality products,ie , carpets, curtains, still on our second lounge suit, and dinning room suit, never tried to keep up with the Joane's. Paid cash for every thing including cars which I normally hung onto for around ten plus years.
Once the house was paid off it was party time (well kind of) Back in the day I gave up my racing and the piss for over seven years (making up for it now).Did a lot of work around the house on the Barter system including building on a nice pool room and bar. We also repaired things that broke.
Any way it is each to their own. But i`m happy for my kids as both have something to fall back on if hard times come around.
By the way, my son who is fourty five this year has never had a drivers license or a car (massive money savings there) but mind you he does do a little pedaling, a little over one hundred and fifteen thousand Ks in the last six years.

Any way each to their own

Extremely Happy to have thankfully uncovered during pre-checks a very real potential of hydrolocking our freshly rebuilt TD42 engine prior to crossing the Simpson Desert soon:

Noticed a very slight amount of coolant in the base of our new W2A barrel Intercooler.
Decided to test the system at 13psi and yep, she’s gotta a tiny crack up top inside the barrel

99% sure it’s my own custom installation designed fault that immediately required once found a 20mm body lift which must’ve in the first 80km engine test run flexed/rocked the barrel rubbing on the bonnets underside
MB’s M/C is now $800 heavier but replacement should arrive 1 week prior to our Simpson departure
Happier and cheaper than a tow home to the Vic Hills from Purni Bore

So you think the issue happened before you installed the 20mm body blocks ? Is there a witness mark on the bonnet or the barrel? Where was it rubbing? Are you sure its not a manufacturing leak? Can you chemi weld it? I guess you have bought another one it sounds. Bit of a big bugger but probably not that large as you may have had it for the tassie trip?

Got the rear pod wired 95% today, power to lights, inverter, DCDC, fridge, exhaust fans on thermostats, just need to do the penetration to get the charge cable into the pod - maybe tomorrow. @Lights white/amber 900mm strip lights work a treat, only draw 0.8amp on white, same on amber only and combined white/amber 2.1amp. Looking at the air compressor feed as well if time permits.
