Had a look in my owners manual, and headlight reminder chime comes under "if so equipped", so obviously NOT all GUs had it fitted.

my 08 crd definitely has a buzzer, although in the past I would lock the drivers door as an OCD hack to remember to turn the headlights off when trying to exit the car, althought that doesn't help if you get maccas drive thru and then sit in your car and eat it.

Thanks - your instructions are easy to follow and the fit-up is very simple
I run something similar using a 5 pin relay.
The park light power goes to the centre pin, the reverse/camp floodlight goes to the switched outlet pin, and the piezo buzzer feeds from the "batt" pin.
Ignition/acc power operates the switch coil.
So if the lights are on but the IGN/ACC is off, power flows through the centre (off) pin on the relay to the buzzer.
When the IGN/ACC is on, the relay switches from the park lights to the reverse/flood light as a source of power for the buzzer. This is to protect from accidentaly leaving the reverse/flood light on when driving.
"Can't" is a dirty 4 letter word.
Best way to deal with a "Can't" is to chop off the "t" and brew it in boiled water for a few minutes.
Sip on the "t", and consider what you've got left to work with
