    It can run like crap without an error code, I've done it when I forgot to tighten an intake clamp.

    there are two blanking plates available. you can blank at both ends to reduce intake/exhaust turbulence. The intake side goes under the EGR volume control valve (if you're wondering)

    There are various manual boost control options, I have the HPD type only with no needle valve. I have a bung tapped into the steel intake pipe above the turbo for boost reference.

    You have to do both at the same time, blank EGR and manual boost control and as I recently learned keep the vacuum solenoid connected to the wiring harness otherwise it WILL go into limp mode.
