Thread: Brake rebuild/upgrade.

    Brake rebuild/upgrade.

    Hi all, I think that I have all the bits I need to get my brakes sorted.

    Can anyone think of anything not on the list that I will need.

    1. New rotors (Front & rear)
    2. Nissan caliper rebuild kits (front & rear)
    3. New copper crush washers for brake line to caliper seal
    4. New braided brake lines
    5. New OEM brake pads

    These Delios rotors are really heavy. Heavier than any other rotor I have seen. Not that I've seen all that many.

    I've attached a photo in case it jogs someone's mind.

    Good luck with getting the caliper piston boots in. From memory they were a big PIA to do.

    Agree, when I rebuilt the twin piston set, it was grease and more grease. I think there was a youtube vid that gave some hints, worth 10mins looking for it. Dont forget to have the drain nipples on the top of the caliper - easy to get them swapwed side to side and liters of brake fluid later you stumble across the error.

    I’m not doing the install job. I getting it done by a brake & front end specialist in Bendigo. But I’ll check out YouTube.

    I remember seeing such video too. The guy made it look easy.

    Why OEM pads when you have gone to the trouble of upgrading everything else? I'm still a fan of EBC pads.

    I’ve spoken to a few different people. And most have said it’s hard to go past oem pads. That’s the only reason.

    FWIW: CC Mate, you’re getting it sorted, if ever future touching your brake system by oneself, please do choose NON-Petroleum based grease possibly insinuated/mentioned above

    I've used OEM pads for years. No brake fad, low dust, not hard on the rotors and wear really well. Buy the TB48 front pads too, they are better if you tow and are hard on the brakes. A little bit softer in compound.
