Heater Blower dead after removal
I stripped out the heater and fan module as part of my rebuild, have reinstalled it, all levers work and plugs installed, heater detent appears to be firm and cannot see a problem, but no blower, fuses are fine. The a/c button operates on/off as soon as the blower slider is moved from off to 1, then the a/c button lights up. What am i missing please? Its a 1997 GQ Diesel manual

Did you fiddle with the fan speed resistor?
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Not that I am aware Craig, more or less plug and play, but not much playing going on. Where is this resistor and what does it look like - I do have a spare blower but trying to check it was running by putting power onto the plug did not work.

Haven't had the pleasure of having to deal with the resistor, on the Old Trol, yet, touch wood. On other vehicles I have worked on, the units are usually mounted in the ducting so the fan airflow acts to cool the elements. Patrolapart sell them.

Bugger me, what kills them or is there a way to direct wire the controller to 12V or maybe it does not work like that? @matfew, any hints?

If the resistor is shot the fan will only work on high. The resistor is used to dissipate the excess voltage when the fan is on anything but, high. They are mounted in the air box of course to keep them cool and stop from burning out due to the heat they put off.
Can you see voltage at the resistor when using a DMM? Also at the fan loom too?

Maek, cant detect power at the plug but the fuses are ok - I will have another look at it tomorrow - dead as a do-do.

Which plug are we talking about? To the fan motor or resistor? If the fan motor, see if there is anything at the resistor. If theres nothing there has to be a break in the loom somewhere.

Bugger. I just looked up the wiring harness in the Nissan shop manual. I was hoping there was a connector in the loom you could check, but no! How far did you pull stuff out? I wonder if the connector at the rear of the switch hasn't been pushed in all the way.
