Hi there
I have a technical question, but will do some introductions first.
I am far from a regular on this forum. I have four Patrols
1) 1985 MQ SD33T, on 35"s
With GQ body due to MQ body having rusted away, axle over leaf spring conversion, and rear revolving shackles
(I suspect this is illegal in Australia, but not here in SA)
It is a heck of toy though, and acts as a bit of an unassuming sleeper on trail days.
More on that later
2) 1993 GQ SWB with TB42, on 31"s
Restored to new, and a bit of a 'show pony' Zero mods, except for electronic distributor.
Less mods = less issues
3) 1995 GQ LWB with TB48 conversion, on 33"s
A LOT of school fees paid to get that right, but have had 4 years of no issues since.
This is the touring/overlanding vehicle
4) 2005 GU with TD42, on 33"s
"Masewa" = Mom's wagon.
Makes a beautiful grunt and a puff after dropping the kids at school.
Back to my MQ, to make it even more awesome:
1) Option1: I have not been able to find someone that makes a crawler gear for MQ.
2) Option 2: would be a second transfer case. Has this been done fo an MQ? I know Jessie from 4wd 24/7 currently drives a twin case GQ...
3) Option 3: Portal axles: Very expensive, and reduces all gears, incl 2wd high range, which I would not want.
If a twin transfer case has been done for an MQ, please let me know
Thanks
