Nipped up the front wheel bearings and fitted Hub Saver Rings from Patrolapart. The rings are quite a lot beefier than I thought they were going to be.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

What did you do to your Patrol today!

Careful not to over torque them Craigstar, they are soft.
Please don’t ask ‘exacts’ tonight but its about load carefully spreading across nip/nip/nip/nip… need my shed circa 25nm bookies but have a shocking memory

Bugger. Torqued them to factory spec. Will inspect them tomorrow to see if they are toast. But I did tighten each bolt in a cross pattern, so should be ok.

Cut 8mm off the ends of both brand new RCV cv and axles just purchased because they are supplied too long from the factory. Circlip groove has already been recut to suit the right location as well, Pretty disappointing to be honest. RCV knows about the issue but stil supplies them incorrectly, like WTF is the point, laziness.axle disks.jpg

What did you do to your Patrol today!

Preping the Patrol for Cape Jaffa. Once a year oil change, even though it hasn’t done 5k in a year, lol. And decided to spray the underbody with this just for some added protection against the salt water.

Deodorised my ass! This shite stinks! I might have to do the rest on the day we leave. My garage really pongs!
