Ok I'm gonna need some more TD42 info.
I'm set on a GU factory turbo (or mayyybe an imaculate conversion).
Firstly, I've read that around 2003 they had a small upgrade including electronic controlled injector pumps. Is it worth short listing to only have post 2003 or is any GU blacktop turbo fine?
Secondly, where do the non intercooled models fit in? Did they come out parallel to the intercooled models? How big is the difference? Is factory intercooled better or can ya bang a cooler on a non cooled version with success and no issues?

The downside with the 2003 on is the electronic security system can fail and stop the fuel from getting to the pump, my suggestion would be if it’s not bypassed already to do it asap so you don’t get stranded.
