Bloody hell. Hope they are ok.

Sorry to hear that news mate. Praying for you folks to have a good out come.
My Daughter works in the Royal Adelaide Hospital, in the covid section . Full PPE , tested twice a day. Been lucky as she only caught it a couple of weeks ago after two and a half years. Both her kids got it, but they really didn`t know that they had it. Life was normal apart from the isolation.
This thing affects people in all different ways, so get tested if you feel just slightly off colour

Sorry to hear that, Phil. I hope your grandkids recover quickly. My thoughts are with you, mate.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.
PeeBee (11th August 2022)
It’s everywhere, seven of the grandchildren and their parents have had it in the last month (total of 13 cases). All vaccinated and three have been really unwell and still have after effects (no taste or smell and still coughing). The youngest two who were to young to get vaccinated tested positive and had absolutely no issues at all.
Seems to hit different people in different ways.
We are continuing to wear masks, can’t afford to catch it at our age.
Cheers

Thanks guys, the hospital is run off its feet. The doctors wanted to send her home this morning to free up a bed, like she was on a respirator last night and unconscious. Trouble is, she is on a rapid 'I'm fine, I'm crashing cycle, so my daughter pushed back and said no, she needs to be clear of this especially as she isn't diagnosed apart from having sepsis last night, so a very sick kid. She is now playing in the RMDH nursery and my wife is letting her run around, as the pattern is she will crash very soon. Very odd, but great standard care and being careful just isn't enough to safeguard against these infections. Lets see what tonight brings. The youngest remains at home as she hasn't reached the required level on incapacity to validate for a hospital bed. We are not used to this level of care or approach - sign of the times but no doubt still 1000 ties better tan some countries.
Hope for a speedy recovery for the little ones @PeeBee ! Kids are resilient. But when it hits them that hard at that age, you know it's not good.
Keep us updated mate.
The legends at ER / Hospitals are knackered at the moment. Wouldn't wish anyone a visit to those corridors right now.
Close family member works at one of the major local hospitals and shes broken. Last few months have been harder than all of last Covid times put together since it began.
They're flooded with people hit by strains and symptoms of Covid, FLu and cold, never seen before and undocumented.

Again, thanks for the responses. Olive was released from hospital last night at 8pm. She was running amuck in the Ronald McDonald play centre and giving plenty of cheek apparently, and didnt crash in the previous cycles so no real justification to hold a bed up from the emergency room full of sick people. So its a wait and see, still sitting on a knife edge with the 1 YO as she is glugged up as well - today will probably reveal more.
