One day mate, kids are to young. I need stability and job security right now. Can't service a mortgage on two new businesses, the wife is doing her own thing and only in her second year, right now while she's growing her business i just need to make sure I can keep a roof over our heads and food on the table.

Busy weekend so far in the shed. Came up with a hanging bracket for my chainsaw to get it off the ground. Its 3mm aluminium. I really like it.

Also made some proper homes for my power tools, looks far better than them in a pile.

That's a great idea for holding the chainsaw @rusty_nail
I'm guessing it doesn't leak any fluid in that orientation?
I might have to do the same as mine just sits on the bench or floor taking up space.
I looked up why chainsaws leak oil, apparently Stihl reckon it's a vacuum lock post using it and pressure change as it cools. They also say it's perfectly ok to store it vertically. I guess the idea is to let it cool and leak somewhere not important(like on the floor) and then hang it up once it won't leak anymore. If you have constant leaking you need to look more into it?

Chainsaw nuffy here Nic mate. Couldn't chainsaw my life out of danger if need be. (campfire wood goes alright though )
We got hauled up to Creswick as part of out chainsaw awareness ticket at work.
Now I can't remember why, but an older chap teaching is up there whos be arboring for a century mentioned never to store them other than their sitting position.
I also sometimes work in conjunction with disaster clearing SES legends and I recall speaking to one of them in awe of their chainsaw range setup. And we were speaking about their storage cupboards for them in the trucks and he too mentioned long slots for them because they are required to store them in their horizontal position. Mind you these fellas have some major league gear. Maybe why it's in their code to do so ...
Again, to me scientifically, physically i can't see how it could affect the saw if its hanging. But as soon as I saw your posts I remember the above...

Yeah mate I agree with their line of thought. I just followed the Stihl website directions and abit more googling to.come up with that posi. The only real issue I could find with vert storage is if you have a full tank of fuel the fuel may leak through the breather. Usually I stop sawing when I run outta fuel. The Stihl site doesn't specifically mention which position the saw should be stored just makes note that out of direct sunlight and away from the elements and specifically in a dust free environment. I felt the floor is probably far more dust prone than the wall so i guess time will tell if the saw doesn't like it's new home!
Perhaps @Rossco might have some clarification?

Hey Nicko yeah wouldn't think there would be too much of an issue the breather would be the only thing could think of but sure it'll be fine, they are designed to run any which way. . Brushcutters can put up or down so reckon she'll be right. . .

Making the most of isolation. Installed some solar and a 40a DC DC charger in the caravan. Upgraded some of the wiring in it also.
