WOW, that is super bad luck - is it a common failure point on that engine?
Not sure if its common, but they call them grenades and it lived up to its reputation ! Weird thing is both rear valves in the front cylinder have been bent, one inlet and one exhaust. The front ones seem fine, not sure how this is possible! D90021DF-0E2E-402A-BF87-2AB9839B12A5.jpeg

I'm not really a fan of the Redarc boost and pyro gauge. The dials are too small So I dragged out my old VDO stuff and mounted around the gauge cluster.
Removing the Redarc means I have also lost the coolant temp, I think I'll order the Redarc oil pressure gauge and utilise the coolant temp sensor too. That'll cover most of whats going on

Was driving home from Bunnings yesterday, slowing down for traffic lights, not quite coming to a complete stop.. When I started to move forward the poo let out a small “ FFT FFT “ sound, like driving over a sheet of plasterboard some tradie dropped...And lost all power. Drove it off the road with the starter motor. RACV bloke suggested fuel issues, however I thought it was cranking faster than usual on the starter motor, compression loss?
Started autopsy today. Shes Farked. Time for an Amarok.
