Honestly, its a pretty big deal to achieve a glowing joint. You really should reterminate the cable at a minimum. Ideally replace the cable.

I installed my Big Bertha Oven on the cargo barrier. Should be able to do a nice roast in this sucker while driving to camp.

I noticed while testing it gets quite hot on the outside, a lot hotter than my small TB oven ever got, but it also gets a lot hotter inside than the small TB. I'll throw the temp gun on it when I go away at easter and see how hot it gets externally. I've thrown a bit of insulation on top of it to shield the Patrol roof a bit, helps stop the oven shaking while I drive as well. My first cook will be a a nice rack of lamb I think on the way out bush at easter.
Current draw was about 19.5 amps with both elements going full bore, no drama's while driving, but need to watch power usage if camped up.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

I started the long list of jobs when you first get a patrol. First remove 3rd row seats (anyone in Brisbane want them?). Adjusted doors that did not close properly. Looked at all the strange home wiring (job for another day). Removed Rear Wheel carrier (Rock Armor) to replace bearings but could not find a replace bearing as not standard Ford/Holden bearings (job for Monday). Cleaning, lots of cleaning. Add to already long list of things to do. oh, and brought a Milford cargo barrier for $70.

Was driving home from Bunnings yesterday, slowing down for traffic lights, not quite coming to a complete stop.. When I started to move forward the poo let out a small “ FFT FFT “ sound, like driving over a sheet of plasterboard some tradie dropped...And lost all power. Drove it off the road with the starter motor. RACV bloke suggested fuel issues, however I thought it was cranking faster than usual on the starter motor, compression loss?
Started autopsy today. Shes Farked. Time for an Amarok.
