Hi mate, if you are going to but that rope lock the cut that tab off and seal the end with some heat shrink so it doesn't frey. If you splice in a loop to the other end for your hook all you do is put the loop through the hook hole the the other end through the loop. Lasso. That way there is No metal thimble to wreck your washing machine either.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Yeah that'll work good. Best to minimize the hardware if ya don't need it. Have a hook and rope on work car and just snitched like that. .

Rocking & Rolling Now Jaysee Mate!
You’ve got your new welder, have a crack at a four sided tacking of an 8mm x 30mm rod or a half 8mm cut chain link in the corner of your winch spool?
Daz can guide you through a decent monkey fist type knot or double granny half arse it like me :-)
Sometimes we desperately need those extra few rotations beyond 8 maybe to say 3 overlapping hitched after a fixed mechanical knot?

Redrill and tap might be the easiest way.
