Jerry can holder.
Need to pick some brains.
Is it legal to carry unleaded fuel in a rear jerry can holder?
If so, I want to make/buy something to carry one 25L can on the small barn door. I'll probably brace and use stronger bolts.
Is this doable.

Pretty sure it is illegal for petrol - diesel and water are OK.

Not sure exactly what part of which legislation this guy is referencing, but he mentions ADR's. If you want to carry fuel on the back of your car must be in an ADR complaint carrier..
I'll keep digging. But have a read.

And this. This is more like what I thought.
I've never heard of a law specifically saying you can't carry petrol on the back of your vehicle. I've heard you "shouldn't" but nothing to say you can't. I think you just need to carry it safely, and like the person in this link states.. With due care. I think an ADR approved carrier would help keep you out of any trouble.

How are you going to open the small door John with a carrier directly in front of the handle?

Thanks threedogs. Just concerned about the weight when loaded.
It's one of the those that bolt onto the spare wheel.

Yeah I want to put a small swing away, on my rear bar, there for a single jerry can holder, and attached it permanently to the door so the two open together. Just trying to work out how to actually get to the opening handle is the issue.
