injector pump ? 4.2 d not taking more than 1500 rpm.
Hi all. New here , but not on the forum :-)
patrol_blanco_2.jpg2.jpg
I have a soft sport for Patrols, so after having my 260 lwb, the white one, I just bought a Safari 4.2 D. And just need some Info about the new one:-) First, patrol start really good and take gas easily only to 1500 rpm, then sput, like it don't inject more diesel. Changing the fuel filter, even it doesn't look bad and had no water or dust when I open the lower part, and looking for a microfilter at the entry of the injection pump, as already said on the forum. Any other ideas? the 4.2 engine is not usual here, not sold in Europe out of UK , and don't have much info....so any help will be greatly appreciated

The master farter
Try without the air cleaner in (dirty or block air filter element). Remove the fuel tank cap and try this too(tank not breathing properly). Get an inline fuel filter and by pass the main fuel filter using the inline one. The primer pump on the head of the filter might be sucking in air.
