Replaced the seal in my air box. There was only a small piece of the old seal left in the lid and a few shall pieces in the air box. Very hard and brittle.
Spot on thanks CL mate!
It’s the little bits & bobs smartly tought here good man that save the swamped out day!
Where from/how much please because I completely forgot about this Achilles’ heel on the old family factory snorkel truckster:-(
Yeh I had no idea about this potential issue either. I just opened up the air box to inspect the filter and give it a clean and saw some large black fragments in there. Turned over the lid and found where they had come from. Basically the original seal feels like charcoal it was so old.
Got the front seats reupholstered to re build the bolsters (side bits) and firm up the base foam. Lasted well from '89 to now so should be good for another 20 yrs or so.
Good job mate , very neat. And man thats a clean engine bay...
Yeah it all went through its first ever car wash (10yrs now) the other day and also used engine degreaser to help track down fuel pump leak. I live down a 5 km dirt road but must say certainly avoid driving thru deep mud soaks as I don't see the point in it.
All it ever gets is a hose down with dam water or if lucky tank water, 3 times a year and never soap bucket. Dust must work as a is a good barrier...
Yeah I have a good set of covers to go on for sure! Will give the wreckers a buzz tomorrow and see if they have some good ones.

I ended up getting a 2nd hand seat rail in good condition today and finished bolting in the XR8 seats, WOW they are so super comfy compared to the Nissan seats. Long trips will be a breeze now without getting sore I reckon.
I used the Huracan adapter kit which was an awesome kit including all the paperwork to get the seats engineered.

Finally got around to installing my Redarc towpro elite and a couple of Anderson’s on the rear bumper for trailer power and solar input. I knew there was a reason I’ve been putting it off, running cables shits me!
