And what's people's opinion the nissan genuine starter is in the 500 range but I've found one made in Japan with a 2 yr warranty for around 250??

Hard to say how long it will last. I know people who tap the starter every morning and have done so for months. But then I can't guarantee this. Couldn't tell you about types of starters as I don't know. I'd probably go with the Japanese unit, being both Japanese made and cheaper.

It's a good chance your starter motor is full of mud.
Disconnect the battery, remove the starter motor, strip it down and inspect.
If it's not that bad you might get away with a clean out.

I'm hopin so.. I read a bit about lack of. Current for the starter moter so may also try runnin an extra cable parallel to the existing one to see if that helps..! May even write up a new thread about it how to do it, can't seem to find one atm

Ok so I've been doing some reading and I've read that if the motor is cranking that the starter motor is doing its job is that correct..? So if that's true it could be another thing causing my problem as the engine try and try's to start and than does start.!

check the battery and its terminals, read the voltage when it starts
check the power cable
check that your distributor is fixed, if it turns around with vibration, time is wasted
to check the start see if you can start the engine on a slope with the clutch

Check the battery voltage while cranking the engine.
The battery May be failing under load causing the starter to turn slow and if it’s fuel injected it will not provide enough power to the Ecu and fuel pump as well.
As mentioned earlier. Try starting it with jumper leads and another battery.
