My car is at HT's, used about 6 litres on the way home, I feel most of it is through the surge tank. Harry will investigate and let me know. He's still not convinced it's the head though. Possible hose under pressure or poor connection to hose at barb sucking air under heat. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Thats what mine was doing at Cape Jaffa. Using heaps of coolant. Spewing it out the overflow bottle. Ended up being a dodgy hose fitting and when the engine was cooling down, instead of sucking the coolant back in from the overflow, it was sucking in air from the dodgy fitting.
@MudRunnerTD. So whats gone in the diff? Pinion bearing?

Not sure mate. Id say ilI have done some more damage and expect it to be messy in there.
