Hi from the Gold Coast
Hi all
As most people who join the site i have a plan and intend to rebuild a TD42 motor (which i already have) and transplant it into a blown GU.
Any advice along the way will be great, I have some mechanical knowledge and would like to do as much as i can myself.
Anyone who has done a TD42 rebuild around the Gold Coast - south Brisbane area can you recommend a engine machine shop that know about these engines.
Originally from the UK and been in Aus for about 10 months so everything is still pretty knew. Good fun tho!
thanks
Aaron

Welcome mate. @nissannewby or @beneboy are up your way and both know plenty on these motors.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
As I lay there looking up, taking in the spectacular view that was the night sky and the multitude of stars I asked myself, where did my tent go?

Thanks for the welcome guys.
I do have a question, please advise if i'm asking in the right section?
I have had little to do with sleeves in the past! I have watched a few you tube videos on them and as i need to change them. I thought I could just hire a puller and change them. No such luck, can't find anywhere that hire's sleeve pullers or anywhere where I can buy one from. So i'm thinking of making a crude one! Is it just a case of pressing them out and pressing a new one back in then getting them machined? Or is it more technical than that with a specific applied pressure forced to ensure they are fully seated?
thanks for any help!
