Would that be the one at Blackall, QLD?.
Going for a dunk at Pilliga Bore this weekend.

Right state, but not Blackall or Pilliga. Think opals.
FWIW I found Pilliga unpleasant but mainly because it was so crowded (both the campground & the pool. Was full of grey nomads & young kids. But it was during school holidays. Other friends have been there at quieter times & love it.
I'd suggest camping at Pilliga Pottery - amazing 'alternative' sort of a place place & fantastic birdlife & walks - far more than just a pottery, $18 per night. Could do a day trip to Pilliga from there. The Sandstone caves in that area are pretty speccy too.
Blackall was my favourite hot dip. It's a full size swimming pool plus a spa. Spa is a bit hotter than the pool. Ultra clean & cheap. $3 for all day if you wish, & a little kiosk where they sell snacks & cuppas. Camping in town was a bit ordinary though.

Yeah, does get a bit crowded. We do a trip out there every June long weekend, usually have the baths to yourself pre dawn, great spot to watch the sun come up. If it is too crowded we stay at the campground behind the Pub. Covered most of the Pilliga in the last few years, only 2 hours from home.
Cheers, VK

Well done, that's the place. Actually quite an interesting & welcoming little place in a laid back sort of way for anyone who enjoys a little bit of outback quirkiness & don't require 5 star accomodation.
Your turn to post up a pic.
