D693 OEM tyres to the cape.
Hi all,
Planning a trip to the cape mid june/july, have 2 questions regarding wheels and tyres:
1. Has anyone taken the OEM D693 tyres to the cape and were they ok? They seem to be a less aggressive AT tread, almost like a HT. Concerned they may lose traction too easily in creek crossings / wet ascents.
2. If changing them, am i better just changing for a more aggressive tyre on the 17" alloy or go for a 16" steel rim as well. Might have a reasonable deal on some 16x8 zero offset dynamic steel rims with MT tyres. Just not sure whether I will need them or not...
Any help appreciated.
Vehicle is a 2016 Y61 legend.
Cheers,
Shane

I don't know what the 693 is like, I have 697's on my work car and have found them quite good.
I have BFG AT's on the Patrol and hoping they will be fine for the cape.
Probably need advice from some members that have already done the trip.
@jack what do you think? What tyres did you have when you went up there?
