The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Missing in Action
Following on from the TV repair several weeks ago I was able to fix a Uniden UHO15SX UHF today. The radio sh#t itself 3 years ago & has been sitting on the bench ever since. I found out what the problem was back then but could not find where to get the component from. Checked back on a forum last week to find some new info & a link to a company that could supply the part.
Ordered it last week & it turned up today. A bit of soldering & the radio is up & running again. Seems it is a common problem with some Uniden & GME uhf`s. The radio will show a full signal bar on all channels but will transmit ok. Found a technician 6 months ago that would repair it for $80, Uniden charge about the same.
Part cost $3, took half an hour to repair, got to happy about that!.
Pic below of the faulty part, black rectangle with white dot, about 1 cm long.

Great stuff VK!
Now, I have a Miele dishwasher, model G 527 that let out an audible "pop" a few years ago and some smoke came up from behind. Can you fault find that for me?
I've never had it quoted but my hunch is it's a capacitor or something minor that someone's going to screw me on
What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal??
