Hey all hope everyone doing well
atm I own 1998 manual gu patrol tb45 dual fuel 4'' tough dog lift kit 33'' muddies roof rack awnning lights al around warn winch just the usual mods and in past 3-4years I owned it I have not had single issue with it and as many ay agree or disagree but in all honesty it has been bullet proof but in my opinion any car if you look after it service it clean it should last almost a life time but now due to motorbike accident I had and 5surgerys latter I cant drive manual anymore so its time to move on and get auto and DIESEL
and now Im in process of buying a GU 04 3l diesel dual cab ute auto that is suitable to my needs andddddd my pocket but I don't have slightest clue about diesels and I have herd a lot that 3l one is a time ticking bomb please let me know if there is anything I need to do to avoid any damage to car or my pocket or any other ups and downs about the motor
thanks for having me on this forum and hopefully I get some good tips and tricks from fellow members here thanks again in advance

Welcome to the forum , yes there is info about nads if you just type that into the search bar top right .
2004 you should be ok most of the bad ones were 2002 or earlier .
Ours is 2002 and still kicking strong after pulling nearly 3 tonne of van around oz three times , but some have been unlucky.

Welcome aboard mate!
Nice choice of rig, hope it checks out for you to buy, compression test request the seller maybe? A GU 04 3l diesel dual cab ute auto would be awesome, believe a properly done wagon chop is like $20k in itself !

Legendary
G'day mate and welcome to the forum. I have an 05 GU4 auto with 230Kk on it and still going strong. Get a EGT gauge, boost gauge and NADS to be on the safe side. A lot is written about what temps to expect but it also depends where the sensor is located. I just installed my gauge, noted what temps I was reading then did the NADS. Lowered the temps by 50 to 100 deg to what they were before.
2005 GU IV ST 3.0. Snorkel. Roof rack. Awning. Spots. Welded I/C. Dual batteries & VSR. UHF. Barn door hinge extension. Roof top spot lights. Rear drawers. 2" lift. NADS. EGT and boost gauges. Trans temp and water temp gauges. Provent 200 catch can. Rear ladder
And crawling on the planet's face, some insects called the human race. Lost in time. And lost in space... and meaning.
