No, it doesn't work like that. It is so I can manually lock the transmission torque converter, mainly used on the long highway runs with bigger wheels or when towing. This allows the transmission to run much cooler without the constant slipping of the torque converter. It will also allow the transmission to give much more effective engine braking on the steep downhill runs.
I probably won't use it much until I chip and exhaust the ZD30, she's too big a slug with the 33's on it now and is constantly up and down the gears on the slightest hills. I removed the lock up kit from my Pajero and just bought a new wiring harness to suit the Patrol. No point in leaving it in the Paj as the missus uses it now as her daily and would never use the lock-up switch.

May put a tank on it and a line under roof rack both sides , just open sliding window and connect short hose to supply air from compressor.
Love they way it cuts out by itself at 150 psi and restarts at just under 100 psi , it's amazing to hear the air rush in just from the line .
Might do some investigating to see if I can set it up like a servo , ie set to 16 psi it automatically lowers pressure , set to 40 it automatically sets to that then cuts out .
More than happy with it and now the pumps fixed in position out of the way and hard wired so the only mucking around is the hose .
Some shops will fit a hotdog style tank along the chassis near the sills plenty of air for locker and to pop a tyre back on a rim.

I have one of these tanks I need to remove from my other 4x4 and fit it to the cargo barrier, I have another tank with motor,,
pressure switch etc that will run an air horn, this larger tank will run front Pro-locker and reinflate tyres.
I also have a small air horn pump that Im hoping to use via a needle valve to pressurize my Warn XP 9.5 winch
to waterproof it some what. Now its getting a bit cooler I'll be able to start doing some of these jobs

Yeah he was concerned with possible condition of engine and now with his 12mm pump and a tired old turbo it's just a given.
Surely his mrs will agree lol
