2016 y61 patrol rim sizes
Hi all, im told by different tire places that i can put 16 inch sunraysia diamond shape rims on my patrol and have to stay with 17 inch. so what can i put on? obviously 17inch but can i go 16inch too?
wanna put aggressive AT or muddies on. btw, i have no lift kit and wont be installing one at this stage.
cheers,
Steve

Which ever shop told you that. Stop talking to them.
A lot of people go to 16" rim with a combo of all terrains or muddies. It's a very common go-to rim.

Yeah you will fit a 16X8 steel rim with a 285x75r16 or 305x70r16 on your car without too much trouble. you will have to remove the front mud flaps but your good to go without a lift.

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Id think most would resort to fitting 16" rims cause they would be a tad cheaper
and more patterns available and outback availability would be easier than say
17" tyres, so its either 285s or the slightly bigger 305s

They say that because of all the anti skid systems, it mite interfere with. differant rolling diameter of the tyres. They will fit but will they be legal.

Any update? What wheels did you get? I personally like the look of moto metal and american force wheels. For a set of aggressive all-around tires, I recommend Trail Grapplers and Duratracs. They are more aggressive than a regular AT tire yet not too harsh on pavement.

I had the same problem with a tyre place. They said they couldn't fit 16 inch steel rims to my 2016 y61 wagon because of clearance issues with the brake calipers.
Is there any truth to this? I'm yet to ask other tyre shops. I'll let you know how I go.
