Borg Warner EFR6758
Hi guys.
With a couple of members recently doing this upgrade and a few more asking questions about this I have been taking some happy snaps of a setup I am currently putting together. If anyone has any questions I will try to answer them to the best of my ability.
Regards Newby

Now in using the Borg Warner EFR 6758 we use a T25 0.64 sized turbine housing. The T designation of a turbos description (T3,T4, T25 etc) will generally be referring to its flange dimension. Most exhaust manifolds for our TD42 will come with a T3 flange. This means we need to adapt to the smaller T25 of the Borg Warner. I have also had these parts ceramic coated.

Now there isnt a gasket available to go between the 2 parts of the adaptor. The adaptor is a fairly well machined item so would unlikely need any sealant. Ceramic coating is also quite soft. I still used a very small smear of Permatek Copper Gasket (High Temp) when joining the 2 parts.

Good job Matty. I think i know the answer but will ask anyway for the sake of the thread.
What is the advantage of Ceramic Coating? How thick is the ceramic and what kind of cost to do the manifold and flanges?

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

The advantage of ceramic coating is it keeps more heat in the gas instead of losing it to the material and then to air. By keeping the heat in gas we can improve the turbo efficiency and also lower engine bay temps. It is not very thick at all but in some instances you do have to remove a little for tolerance fit items. maybe 0.05-0.1mm thick.
