Sometimes renting does stack up. Interest paid to the bank is as much "dead money" as rent payments are (good times atm with low interest rates tho' - it's a trap thinking these will last for the duration of a mortgage tho').
And then there's the negative equity issue that is starting to creep in over here in the West (and other places too I suspect).
Depends if you are looking for an investment or a home. If it's a home for the long term, then financial analysis takes a bit of a back seat...
Nonetheless, hope it all goes well @Winnie.
Keep the hand steady while signing! (...and don't forget the subject to finance - or whatever - condition, just in case!)

Be quiet you!
Just had the nig nogs with their offer come through the house again at real late notice today as they are off overseas on Thursday. So hopefully something comes of it tomorrow. Then we are looking at a "fixer upperer" tomorrow arvo. If I can get it for the right price, I reckon I can fully reno it in 3 or so months, full time at it, which means shutting down my business, we will make some good coin on it. Nice area its in, just needs some TLC, inside and out. I'm good with my hands and reno work, its something I like to do, so if I can make money on it....
